Benefits of Body Oils:
- Since they do not contain fillers like water, body oils are more concentrated with phytonutrients from plant oils.
- Body oils do not require preservatives or emulsifiers- so they are more natural.
Key Ingredients:
Blue Lotus Flower: The Blue Lotus, also known as the Sacred Egyptian Lotus (Nymphaea caerulea), holds a revered position across various ancient cultures, including Egypt, Greece, and Tibet. Its beauty and fragrance symbolise tranquility, while representing creation, rebirth, death, and the eternal presence of the sun—a symbol of life’s cycles.
Avocado Oil: Avocado oil is extremely rich in vitamins A, D, and E, monounsaturated fatty acids, as well as having high lecithin and potassium content. Avocado oil is also very high in sterolins, which are reputed to reduce the presence of age spots, heal sun damage and scarring, as well as moisturising and softening the skin.
Jojoba Oil: Interestingly, the composition of Jojoba is similar in many ways to sebum produced by our own skin which is perhaps why it is so nourishing, protective and well-tolerated. It penetrates the skin easily and can help to reduce water loss through the skin by forming a protective film.
Bergamot, Calabrian Oil: A member of the citrus family, Bergamot combines fresh citrus with floral tones in a unique and lively scent and is a great antiseptic and healing.
Lemongrass Oil, Cymbopogon flexusus: Lemongrass is used in Ayurveda as a traditional medicine for infection, and the essential oil indeed has strong antiseptic properties as well as a tonic effect on the whole body to promote wellness.
Cypress Oil, Cupressus sempervirens, Spanish Oil, Zalabi: Historically a highly revered tree, Cypress was used both medicinally and spiritually as a purifying incense. Its botanical name sempervirens means evergreen or ‘live forever’, which may refer to the longevity of the tree (living for up to 1000 years) as well as its therapeutic properties.
Zalabi’s quality essential oils have impressed us so much that we decided to share them with you too! You can learn more about Zalabi’s sustainability, cultivation, and distillation practices in their video - Zalabí: a green leap in essential oil production.
Black Pepper, Piper nigrum: The spicy stimulating nature of Black Pepper has been revered for thousands of years for its warming and activating effects.
How to Use: After bathing, massage onto slightly damp skin to seal in hydration.
